It’s Okay to Close a Chapter of Your Life
It is always hard to let go of all those past hardships and experiences as a human. Grief comes in so many forms and it could be caused by all kinds of tragedies, break-ups, or misfortunes that happens within the span of your existence. It could even make you doubtful of your own existence in this world.
Learning to let go is the key, in order for you to move on with your life and seek a better future for the rest of your existence in this planet. If you do get closure, then it would open up to a whole new realm of possibilities and opportunities for your future. Now, how can you attain such a state in your life?
The first good advice for you is to ask yourself of the insecurities and truths that had happened in that chapter of your life. Is it really necessary to hold on to this pain that you have been feeling? Are you that hopeful that everything goes back to normal after everything that had happened? What is your greatest fear after this? You could come up with a lot of questions, and it is in fact frightening to think that you have to face these questions head on. This is a critical phase as it would determine the truth of the whole situation. Despite the grievances that you may face, this is a step in a good direction as it enables you to look forward rather than looking back.
The next logical step would be to release those emotions out. Whether you cry or lash out, it is a good feeling to have those things released and set free from your body. Although, some people learn to block off these emotions because of that present fear that they could be potentially adding another fatality to their life. One can never look ahead once their emotions are not intact and repressed by their conscious state. You could never move on to something that precious that fast. It is okay to give it some time. If you are never eager to move pass the emotions, then it is best for you consult a therapist or guidance counselor in order to move on with your life.
The next plausible thing to do is to have you shift the focus of your actions and emotions to yourself. Do not let others tell you what you are going to do next. Instead, find that happy place again, and center all your time and emotions onto that. Do not be faced by the things that happened to you in the past. Instead, make positive changes to your lifestyle in order to really gain the upper hand for the future. Also make sure that you surround yourself with the people that love you back and would never leave your side despite everything that had happened.
